Provo Craft In-store Demonstrator (04/12/10)

OMGypsy! I got it... I got the part-time demonstrator position with Provo Craft/Campaigners-ASM. I will be demonstrating the new Cricut Cake at Michaels in Lewisville every Sunday in May and the Expression in June. PC is flying us out to Chicago next Friday for training! I had my first phone interview on Saturday (4/10)and my second earlier today (4/12). They just called (man that was fast!) to let me know that I had gotten the position. WOO-HOO!!!

Wild About You Scrapbook Retreat (4/16/10-4/18/10)

OMGypsy! What a great group of ladies! My BFF Tammy and I hosted a scrapbook retreat for a group of ladies called Oh Crop! (love the name). The theme for this retreat was Wild About You, so of course our color scheme was zebra print and hot pink. We not only had a blast hosting this retreat but spending time together, duh (lol)! What more could a girl ask for... having your BFF as a partner and doing what you love. Oh, we also met our new BFF Myrel. Hi Myrel!

Tammy has been hosting scrapbook retreats for about three years now and me - well, I am brand spanking new. We have a lot of fun together and host scrapbook retreats once a month at the Comfort Inn Suites in Frisco. Check it out at www.cropallday.com and join us for a really fun weekend!

PKRC (4/9/10-4/11/10)

WOW - what an incredible weekend (as usual)! My son (Logan), daughter (Calli) and I volunteer every year at a wonderful place called Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children. PKRC is a camp for children with disabilities. This was our sixth year to participate. We started way-back-when as a one time volunteer opportunity with our cub scout group. My assistant den leader (at the time) and good friend Amy, takes several groups out there each year. She is a hand therapist at Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, she works with children who have lost or is born with a hand/arm difference.

We (there's four of us - Amy L, Amy W, Mieka and myself) organize a group of friends and family who go out and volunteer our time for one weekend each year to make the camp a brighter, better place for these wonderful children. We do things like clean, organize, weed, paint, plant, build, and the list goes on and on - lol! I am in charge of the meals for our group of 50-70 people (varies each year) for the weekend. It is a lot of work, but a lot of fun too! We also get to use there facilities while we are there, which include a movie theatre, miniature golf, hiking trails, ropes course, rock wall and zip line. You know the saying 'All work and no play'...

We close our weekend every year with a wonderful chapel service (THANKS RANDY!) and group picture.

OH!!!! I almost forgot (NOT!)... I also got the call for my first interview with Campaigners-ASM on Saturday for the part-time PC demonstrator position. I have a second interview on Monday. Wish me luck!

EASTER

Happy Easter! We had a really great day! Went to church (Fellowship Church in Grapevine) with my family and then back to our house for a BBQ. My BFF Tammy and her family came over after church for bbq and an Easter egg hunt for the little ones (my husband was very disappointed he was too old to participate). Tracy, Tammy's sister made a fabulous lemon bunt cake. Thanks Tracy!

We ate some great food and took some great group/family pics. The kids were adorable in their Easter best and so were we adults, if I do say so myself - lol! My parents drove in from Winnsboro to spend the day with us. My mother is undergoing Chemo due to a double mastectomy in Jan and was feeling pretty good. Love you mom!

God bless...

ROAD TRIP WITH MY BFF TAMMY

OMGypsy! What a fun trip!!! Tammy and I drove to Oklahoma to hang with Robyn (My Pink Stamper) and her BFF Karlee. After dropping our scrapbooking stuff off at Tammy's church for Faithbooking on Sat, we ran over to Sam Moon (one of our favorite shopping hot spots) before hitting the road. We stopped in at Cracker Barrel for some lunch and of course, some more shopping (they had a great sale on some really cute Easter stuff). After eating we stopped by Win Star where I promptly lost $100 bucks at the blackjack table (and I do mean promptly, lol!).

We arrived in OK just in time for dinner. After checking into our hotel, Robyn treated us to Chicago Pizza for some GREAT food and the BEST strawberry lemonade I have ever tasted. After dinner we headed over to Robyn's for the live Ustream (Friday - 3/26/10, 8pm central time). Robyn, Karlee and Tammy did a great job - that was a lot of fun, thanks girlz! Once back at our hotel, Tammy and I hung out and stayed up late for some girl talk - duh! lol

We headed back bright and early Saturday morning and spent the rest of the day scrapbooking with Tammy's faithbooking group. What a great group of galz - hi ladies! What a great weekend...
