TRAVEL TO CHA

Whew... what a drive!!! We didn't head out until about 11am on Sunday. After picking Tammy up and meeting Myrel and Connie, we hit the road. Wow! I don't think we could have fit one more thing in the back of the Tahoe.

Cricut Camp

06/21/10-06/23/10
Tammy and I hosted a three day Cricut Camp with 4 different classes offered each of the three days. What a successful event! We can't wait for our August Cricut Camp.

Since we offered three full days of classes we (Tammy, Myrel and I) decided to stay at the hotel for the three days to get some work done. Okay, and to have some fun too! Not only did we have a blast hanging out together, we worked on our blogs, made plans for our CHA trip next month, placed some new merchandise orders, finished some projects, brain stormed on the vendor fair we are having next month, stayed up late, drank some wine and hit the jacuzzi for some much needed relaxation. WOW - what a busy three days!

Life is a Beach Retreat

06/04/10-06/06/10
Tammy and I hosted a retreat this weekend. The theme was Life is a Beach. We had some great classes, great give aways and a great group of ladies. Thanks ladies!

Great American Scrapbook Convention

06/03/10
Tammy, Myrel and I met at the Arlington Convention Center early afternoon and checked into the hotel before heading over to the show. Myrel is working for The Scrap Rack over the next couple of days and was kind enough to invite Tammy and I to stay with her for the night. THANKS Myrel! We had a blast hanging together and shopping all day. So much to see and buy!!!

OMGypsy! Did I mention that after the show we had dinner with Tim Holtz??? Okay... well, not so much with him, but at the same restaurant and at the table next to his. We did however have a great and fun time with him and his group. Tammy tried to sneak a picture of me with Tim sitting just behind me, but Tim went and ruined it by giving a big-ole wave just as she took the picture - lol! There was a lot of interaction between our table and theirs. At one point, Ted (one of Tim's crew) came over and sat to chat with us. Before leaving Tim was gracious enough to strike a pose with us.

What a great ending to a great day!!!

Walk in My Garden National Scrapbook Retreat

04/30/10-05/02/10
What a great weekend! Tammy and I hosted our Annual National Scrapbook Retreat. The theme was Walk in My Garden. We had a garden hat contest, great door prizes, lots of classes, a midnight jacuzzi party and a great vendor - thanks Jodi! It was a lot of fun! And big thank you to all the wonderful ladies who joined us...

Provocraft Demo Army - Chicago Training

4/23/10 - Friday
OMGypsy, what a fun day! I flew to Chicago with BFF Tammy and gal-pal Myrel. After grabbing our bags, we walked through the terminal and arrived at our hotel... YEP, that's right we never left the airport. lol

The ASM meet-and-greet that night was great! We went around to different 'stations' where we received out polo shirt, name tag, training manual and Gypsy... YEP, you heard me right - Gypsy. Afterward, we had gourmet pizza and salad. YUMMY!

04/24/10 - Saturday
Training started bright and early the next day. We were given a little back ground on ASM and Provocraft. We met some really great people - a big shout out to Virginia, Becky and David with ASM and Christy, Tonia and Ryan with Provocraft. We were trained on all the Provocraft machines; focusing on the Expression, Gypsy and Cake.

04/25/10 - Sunday
After another full day of training, ASM treated us to dinner at Gino's East of Chicago pizzeria. Gino's was a really cool restaurant with really good food and other than my run in with the restaurants pet wasp, we had a great time! Yes, you heard me right... wasp. Not five minutes after sitting down to eat I was stung by a wasp that had been hanging out under our table. Lucky I was not allergic! On the bright side, I received a free adult beverage to numb the pain. :-)

It was so funny too... we had found a booth off on it's own and with everyone coming by to check on me after being stung by the wasp, one of the gals made a comment that we looked like the mafia sitting there - the Cricut Mafia that is, Texas chapter. LOL

04/26/10 - Monday
It's our last day of training. After getting up and checking out, we headed off for our last few hours of training. We have received so much great info over the past couple of days. We were treated like royalty, the accommodations were great, the food was great and the company was great.

What a great opportunity! THANKS Provocraft and ASM!!!

Provo Craft In-store Demonstrator (04/12/10)

OMGypsy! I got it... I got the part-time demonstrator position with Provo Craft/Campaigners-ASM. I will be demonstrating the new Cricut Cake at Michaels in Lewisville every Sunday in May and the Expression in June. PC is flying us out to Chicago next Friday for training! I had my first phone interview on Saturday (4/10)and my second earlier today (4/12). They just called (man that was fast!) to let me know that I had gotten the position. WOO-HOO!!!

Wild About You Scrapbook Retreat (4/16/10-4/18/10)

OMGypsy! What a great group of ladies! My BFF Tammy and I hosted a scrapbook retreat for a group of ladies called Oh Crop! (love the name). The theme for this retreat was Wild About You, so of course our color scheme was zebra print and hot pink. We not only had a blast hosting this retreat but spending time together, duh (lol)! What more could a girl ask for... having your BFF as a partner and doing what you love. Oh, we also met our new BFF Myrel. Hi Myrel!

Tammy has been hosting scrapbook retreats for about three years now and me - well, I am brand spanking new. We have a lot of fun together and host scrapbook retreats once a month at the Comfort Inn Suites in Frisco. Check it out at www.cropallday.com and join us for a really fun weekend!

PKRC (4/9/10-4/11/10)

WOW - what an incredible weekend (as usual)! My son (Logan), daughter (Calli) and I volunteer every year at a wonderful place called Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children. PKRC is a camp for children with disabilities. This was our sixth year to participate. We started way-back-when as a one time volunteer opportunity with our cub scout group. My assistant den leader (at the time) and good friend Amy, takes several groups out there each year. She is a hand therapist at Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, she works with children who have lost or is born with a hand/arm difference.

We (there's four of us - Amy L, Amy W, Mieka and myself) organize a group of friends and family who go out and volunteer our time for one weekend each year to make the camp a brighter, better place for these wonderful children. We do things like clean, organize, weed, paint, plant, build, and the list goes on and on - lol! I am in charge of the meals for our group of 50-70 people (varies each year) for the weekend. It is a lot of work, but a lot of fun too! We also get to use there facilities while we are there, which include a movie theatre, miniature golf, hiking trails, ropes course, rock wall and zip line. You know the saying 'All work and no play'...

We close our weekend every year with a wonderful chapel service (THANKS RANDY!) and group picture.

OH!!!! I almost forgot (NOT!)... I also got the call for my first interview with Campaigners-ASM on Saturday for the part-time PC demonstrator position. I have a second interview on Monday. Wish me luck!

EASTER

Happy Easter! We had a really great day! Went to church (Fellowship Church in Grapevine) with my family and then back to our house for a BBQ. My BFF Tammy and her family came over after church for bbq and an Easter egg hunt for the little ones (my husband was very disappointed he was too old to participate). Tracy, Tammy's sister made a fabulous lemon bunt cake. Thanks Tracy!

We ate some great food and took some great group/family pics. The kids were adorable in their Easter best and so were we adults, if I do say so myself - lol! My parents drove in from Winnsboro to spend the day with us. My mother is undergoing Chemo due to a double mastectomy in Jan and was feeling pretty good. Love you mom!

God bless...

ROAD TRIP WITH MY BFF TAMMY

OMGypsy! What a fun trip!!! Tammy and I drove to Oklahoma to hang with Robyn (My Pink Stamper) and her BFF Karlee. After dropping our scrapbooking stuff off at Tammy's church for Faithbooking on Sat, we ran over to Sam Moon (one of our favorite shopping hot spots) before hitting the road. We stopped in at Cracker Barrel for some lunch and of course, some more shopping (they had a great sale on some really cute Easter stuff). After eating we stopped by Win Star where I promptly lost $100 bucks at the blackjack table (and I do mean promptly, lol!).

We arrived in OK just in time for dinner. After checking into our hotel, Robyn treated us to Chicago Pizza for some GREAT food and the BEST strawberry lemonade I have ever tasted. After dinner we headed over to Robyn's for the live Ustream (Friday - 3/26/10, 8pm central time). Robyn, Karlee and Tammy did a great job - that was a lot of fun, thanks girlz! Once back at our hotel, Tammy and I hung out and stayed up late for some girl talk - duh! lol

We headed back bright and early Saturday morning and spent the rest of the day scrapbooking with Tammy's faithbooking group. What a great group of galz - hi ladies! What a great weekend...
